Essity UK Ltd (Formerly SCA UK)
Post Demolition Works

As part of the major site development and investment, Danby Projects were instructed to carry post demolition making good works to Essity’s paper mill in Bury, Lancashire. This was to facilitate the integrity of the building following large scale demolition work adjacent to the existing and ongoing process.

This involved a new facade to the exposed elevation and associated new access gantry and stair cases. Adjacent to the building, an existing culvert required protection and strengthening with a new reinforced concrete slab to protect the live system and also allow access over with HGV’s.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • New Façade and underlying structure to building, tying in to existing structure to maintain weather proofing
  • New galvanised steel access gantries to facilitate access to plant behind facade
  • New galvanised steel staircase and roof access, into very tight area
  • New roller shutter and personnel access doors
  • Strengthening works to an existing drainage culvert including reinforced concrete slab
  • Further internal demolitions and investigations
